Before you instruct us
Questions we are asked most.
Choosing a lawyer is an important decision. Here are some of the questions clients commonly have before taking the next step.
Is my matter something you can help with?
If you are unsure whether your situation falls within our practice, please get in touch. We will help you understand whether we are the right firm to assist you and, where appropriate, point you in the right direction.
Can you advise me if I am based outside Nigeria?
Yes. We advise clients both within Nigeria and internationally, particularly in relation to property, probate and corporate matters. Where necessary, we can also assist with documentation and related formalities from the United Kingdom.
How are legal fees agreed?
We will discuss fees with you at the appropriate stage and provide clarity on the basis upon which we will act. Depending on the matter, this may involve a fixed fee, an hourly rate, or a staged arrangement. You will know the proposed structure before work begins.
How long will my matter take?
This depends on the nature and complexity of the matter. Where possible, we will provide an indicative timetable at the outset and keep you informed if circumstances change.
Will my discussions with you remain confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to the solicitor-client relationship. Information you share with us is treated with the highest degree of discretion and in accordance with our professional obligations and applicable data protection laws.
